Powell Family Reunion Camporee For 100 years the Boy Scouts of America has used the outdoors to bring Scouts and Scouters of all ages together in a spirit of brotherhood. Please join us in celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America at The Powell Family Reunion Camporee. The Reunion will provide a once in a lifetime experience for Scouts, with separate programs for Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts. When the anniversary year comes to a close you will want to be able to look back and remember "I was at the 100th Anniversary Powell Family Reunion and it was awesome!" You will remember this landmark event for years to come. Cub Scouts – On Saturday, April 24, 2010, a day program full of fun and exploration of the Cub Scout program through the decades will occur. Known as “Cubbing” prior to 1945, Cub Scouts had its American beginning in the 1920s and was officially approved as part of the Boy Scouts of America program in the 1930s. Join us as we provide a unique collection of “Cubbing” and Native American crafts, games, songs, and skits from each decade for your Cub Scout to experience. Webelos Scouts – The Webelos program is all about fun! These boys have just a short time before they advance to Boy Scouts and are off on bigger adventures where they will practice the skills learned as Webelos. Webelos will come to this program area with different skill levels and will be able to do things that are comfortable, exciting, and challenging. The events are designed for the boys to have fun while learning the ideals of the Boy Scouting program; Personal Fitness, Team Building, Problem Solving, Outdoor awareness, and Native American games. The Webelos program will run on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Boy Scouts – Travel a memorable journey as you participate in outdoor activities from the past, present, and future. There will be historical events that your father or grandfather might recognize from their days as Boy Scouts, along with our traditional Scout skills with a new twist. Experience, learn, be challenged, and have fun as you navigate your way through each event at the Powell Family Reunion Camporee. “Be Prepared” and come ready for an adventure! The Boy Scout program area will run on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Venture Scouts – Celebrating the 100 years of the American Scouting program, the Venture area will incorporate activities that have led to the creation of Venturing, and provide a FUN review of the skills that are developed in the Venturing program. As your crew or ship is challenged with a variety of historical activities and current activities, they will have the opportunity to experience and gain knowledge from events that they might not normally be exposed to. Join us on this historical and fun adventure! The Venture Scout program area will run on Saturday, April 24, 2010.
